Macarthur Minerals Limited: Shareholder Update

Macarthur Minerals Limited (TSX VENTURE: MMS) announced today that at the Company’s Annual General Meeting, Directors David K Barwick and James Canning-Ure were not re-elected to the Board. Directors Simon Hickey and Alan S Phillips were re-elected. Of the other resolutions, the Canadian Auditors were re-appointed and the Stock Option Plan was ratified. The resolution concerning the re-pricing of options was not approved.

New Appointments

At the Board Meeting following the Annual General Meeting, John Toigo LLB (Hons) was appointed a Director of the Company.

John Toigo is a partner of ClarkeKann Lawyers, an Australian based corporate & commercial law firm with offices in Brisbane and Sydney. He is the leader of the corporate & commercial division of the firm. John has over 20 years experience as a corporate lawyer with particular emphasis on capital raisings, public and private, mergers and acquisitions, companies and securities regulation, company structuring, corporate governance, corporate finance and complex commercial transactions. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a graduate diploma in applied finance and investment. John is a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors and Queensland Law Society. John is also board member of Rosies Youth Mission Inc. a not-for-profit street outreach organisation.

David Taplin MBA LLB GradDipACG, FCIS, MAICD was appointed Company Secretary and CFO. David is a Solicitor, CPA and Chartered Secretary. David has held positions as CFO, Company Secretary, General Counsel and in corporate development for several ASX, TSX-V companies and government owned corporations, with a particular focus on energy and resources. David has worked extensively in corporate law, corporate governance and corporate finance both in Australia and internationally. He also regularly instructs courses in corporate governance at some of Australia’s leading business schools and professional institutions.

Alan Phillips was appointed President, Chairman & CEO.
